This tutorial will show you how to save a custom mouse pointer scheme for your account in Windows 11.
The mouse pointer, which is sometimes referred to as the cursor, is a bitmap that specifies a focus point on the screen for user input with the mouse. The pointer will appear with a different image for each action or status by default.
When you customize mouse pointer images, you can save these changes as a scheme. This saved pointer scheme will then be available to select on demand to make changing the mouse pointer scheme to the custom scheme easier.
EXAMPLE: Saved custom mouse pointer scheme in Mouse Properties
Here's How:
1 If you haven't already, customize pointer images how you want.
2 Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click/tap on the Mouse icon.
3 Click/tap on the Pointers tab. (see screenshot below)
4 Under the Scheme section at the top, click/tap on the Save As button. (see screenshot below)
The current unsaved pointer scheme will be shown as (None).
5 Type a name (ex: "Blue") you want to use for this pointer (cursor) scheme, and click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below)
6 Click/tap on OK to close Mouse Properties. (see screenshot below)
That's it,
Shawn Brink
