Windows 11
After i update my laptop to windows 11, a lot of bugs occured but most of it got fixed along with the newer updates, but one problem still remains and it's really annoying.

Windows power plan have the option to turn off display automatically after some time, and also the option to sleep automatically. After this update, everytime i try to turn my display back on after either option are carried out, it usually tkaes around 30 seconds to 2 minutes for the display to turn back on, I can confirm that it is only the display that takes long to boot up because i can type my pin to get into the desktop from the lock screen.

Worse than that, after the display turns on, it appears that windows have set the brightness to maximum, and cant be changed even though the brightness bar is moving, they've also turned off reading mode which is always turned on by default for me.

I've only tried reinstalling nvidia graphic driver, but it still didn't fix the problem. My current solution is to just set the power plan to never turn off the display and sleep. Is there anyone else with the same problem or know how to fix this? I use Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05 laptop with Intel processor.

Hello and welcome to the forum. First of all, your laptop is not 'sleeping' in the same way we have come to expect over the years. It is in a state called modern standby or S0 sleep which can cause all kinds of issues from overheating, battery drain, and wake just to name a few. First, never leave your laptop sitting on the desk in this state with the lid closed for extended periods of time. Also, never carry your laptop in an enclosed bag. I guess there are some people somewhere who like it, a lot of folks here consider modern standby a plague for laptops, but it is MS answer to "instant on".

Please open cmd as admin and type powercfg -a. Post a screenshot of the result.

In the meantime, read one of the many, many threads regarding various modern standby problems. See @Try3 post #6 in particular. He has experimented with S0 as much as anyone Windows 11 Laptop- lock screen/screen saver

You can try his suggestion in Post #12 to see if your system will allow you to disable S0 sleep and enable S3 sleep (very few allow it) Otherwise, it is the general consensus that using hibernate is a better choice.

Hello, here is the screenshot for my powercfg -a run. It appears that my laptop are using S3 sleep which should not be the problem in this case, correct me if I'm wrong. I have read the post you've linked and did not understand the problems, as far as I understand, the problem on the posts you've linked occurs because they use the S0 sleep function to turn off their computer for extended period of times, I only use sleep and screen turn off when I leave my computer for a short amount of time, for example when i want to eat for around 1 to 3 hours.

OH you are so lucky. That's one of the first newer laptops I've seen that has S3.
Try disabling hibernation to see if it makes a difference.
From cmd as admin type powercfg /h off
restart and let the laptop automatically sleep. Does it make a difference in wakeup?

If not, try to manually put it to sleep by opening a command prompt, copy-paste this command rundll32.exe powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState Sleep
Wake it up. Is there a difference?
