Screen turns 'grainy'

Every now and then, usually when I am looking at a You Tube video, the screen suddenly turns a grey color, like a grainy black and white tv.
Can't get out of it no matter what buttons I press except for the power button.
As soon as I hit again the screen id fine again.
What could be causing this ?
I am on Windows 11, using an Asus Vivobook laptop.

please check the reliability monitor
control panel > security and maintenance > maintenance > reliability monitor
to check for any record system errors.

then it maybe worthwhile checking problem devices.
window tools > system information > components > problem devices
and see if any thing is recorded there.

You know how I said it usually happens when I look at YouTube ?
Well it turned out the problem was I had the ad blocker turned on in Vivaldi and YouTube didn't like that.
Got to the stage where if I tried looking at a video the screen went crazy, just covered in all these black wavy lines, totally unwatchable.
I turned off the ad blocker and now it renders fine, only trouble is my page is flooded with ads, so annoying.
I worked it out because it wasn't happening when I used Edge browser.
Thanks for all the help, appreciate that.......

Have you tried just a simple replacement of your HDMI or DisplayPort cable?

Have you tried updating your graphics driver?
