Microsoft is competing with Google search engine. The main reason for promoting Edge is to increase use of Bing. The default search engine for Edge in Bing. There is a long way to go to catchup with GoogleA better title to this thread might be "Seems MS doesn't like competition". Whatever their motive is for shoving Edge down your throat, it's a fool's bet that it's not for your benefit. I don't see any technical issues with Edge; it's most likely as good as any other browser, but Microsoft doesn't think you can come to that conclusion on your own.
My main reason for using FF -- actually 2 of them 1) I still like Menus, and 2) I prefer the pin to toolbar for sites I use a lot e.g this one !!!A better title to this thread might be "Seems MS doesn't like competition". You get a "Nag screen" when wanting to download FF. (On a new install there's only Edge so you need to use that at least once to get FF (or any other browser) from the Internet.
