send to media player shortcut

can someone send me command for send to media player.
have 22h2 prerelease build when i set this up it opens old media player at times

What's wrong with the Open with menu?

Right click file name > Choose another app > locate/identify required program and tick box always use this program.

Settings > Apps > Default app > etc

"Old media player"? Which media player are we referring to - Windows Media Player or a proprietary brand media player?

@Edwin open works fine, but I have lots of removable drives with flacs and mp3's and was trying to create a sendto (new media Player) option.
i made a sendtold media player but it doesn't play flacs, the new one does....if you do a search for media player, it finds only the old media player i believe is wmplayer.exe

so what I am trying to do is select several music files(alot more than several) right click mouse so the sendto button will send them to the new media player. thats all

You can assign specific files to open in a specific app or you can assign specific apps to open specific files. Example all my media music files are opened in (played in) JRiver Media center.

There are a number of ways to accomplish this either by the player itself in telling it what files to open and play automatically or you can assign them through Windows - "Open With" or through the "Default Apps" in Windows.

And "Send To" has nothing to with the files played, that's the media player. If you flac files aren't playing, perhaps you need to look at the files or media player itself.

Yeah, it works but as you stated you needed to create a send to for the media player or folder you wanted the files in. Kind of a clunky way to do it, when "Open with" would have been simpler and faster; but hey, if it works for you that's all that matters.

Maybe, for files and folders, but for different media file types (extensions) individually, they need to be defined by the Open with + Always use options.

Yeah, they'd like you to navigate the app, not your files!
It's 2022 and there's still very little integration with most UWP apps and the win32 environment!

Not sure what you mean? Any app would like you to explore it. That's how you learn what it does and doesn't do. What am I missing?

And last I checked most apps ask you to associate your files with said app.
