I installed Win11 21H2 build 22000.556 on a PC 2 days ago. I mostly access this computer remotely so I've had it in and out of low power states many times since then. Yesterday around noon I started getting Sever event id 2505 every time the PC woke up.

Code:
The server could not bind to the transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{78F14A05-1A71-4D71-9D4B-46D1A41BC2A5} because another computer on the network has the same name. The server could not start.

This event does not occur after a restart, just when waking from sleep. I had put the PC to sleep and awakened it several times before it started happening, but now it's consistent - every time the PC wakes up.

I'm not aware of any problem this is causing - I apparently don't use the failing service much - but it sounds serious.
How do I associate "\Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{78F14A05-1A71-4D71-9D4B-46D1A41BC2A5}" with something meaningful to me?
And what is the duplicate name? All of the host names on my LAN are unique?

Whoo! I must have mistyped when I did a search.

I do have multiple network interfaces - Ethernet and Wi-Fi, but not active at the same time. And I changed the computer's device name (host name) a few weeks ago (back when I was on W10). My router may still know about both of those names and/or MAC addresses. Maybe I'd better make sure I can still use both interfaces.

I now have Win11 on 3 computers - 2 desktops and one laptop. The desktops are normally use Ethernet connections but have had external (USB-attached) WiFi adapters connected in the past. They log this event whenever the Ethernet adapter enables following a reboot or waking from sleep. Both the Ethernet and WiFi adapters work fine in spite of the error logged.

The Laptop normally uses WiFi and had not logged the event until I plugged in an Ethernet cable. It logs the event whenever I plug in the Ethernet cable. Both the Ethernet and WiFi adapters work fine.

This error obviously has something to do with the Ethernet adapters but seems to cause no problems.
