I don't know if it matters but the problem began when I temporarily removed a Logitech 720p USB camera from one computer (Win'11) and added it to another (Win'10). It didn't come up. Later, I returned it to the Win'11 system and it no longer functions. I then went thru my "junk box" of older simpler USB cams only to find that NONE will now work in either computer. Device Manager will place them under "Other devices: Unknown device". As I plug then in, the notification may say "Camera", or "Composite Device" or "Audio device". Properties may say "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". I keep clicking on "Uninstall Device". Then I change cameras and then click on "Scan for hardware Changes". All but one continue to fall under the "Other devices category: Unknown device".

Would anyone care to suggest some behavioural modification procedure?
Thank you.

These cameras could be 30 years old. Obviously you would have to do lengthy research to find specs of USB ports and drivers. Back then they may also have used various obsolete flash Memory Cards, CompactFlash(CF), Smartmedia, MultimediaCard(MMC).

The Win 10 PC #2 (needs updates) would be the easiest to use.
