For some reason my smart card will not detect anymore on my laptop. It still works just fine on my desktop. The laptop will detect the smart card reader, but when I insert my smart card, I notice that it does not pick up under Device Manager. I looked up the "smart card" driver on my desktop and the same file exists on the laptop. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling more than once to no effect. I even tried a second smart card reader and same issue. How can get my smart card to get detected? Thanks.

Fingers crossed...got the reader working again...I'll see if it holds. For those that use CAC readers (e.g. military/government) the SCM/Indentiv drivers are apparently not compatible with Windows Core Isolation/Memory Integrity (Security). After disabling Core Isolation, doing a Windows repair by reinstall, installing the reader again, uninstalling the SCM drivers completely and using the standard Microsoft ones, my CAC smart card now shows too when inserted, and I was able to turn Core Isolation/Memory Integrity back on without error.
