Hi. I tried to use sodaPDF but later decided to go back to my original Adobe reader (free). I uninstalled SodaPDF but now when I go onto a web page and open a PDF document, it takes me to PDF Online Tool - Soda PDF. I can not shake off SodaPDF. All my desktop files open correctly with Adobe reader now but using Chrome browser, it insists on taking mre to PDF Online Tool - Soda PDF.

Seems that Chrome has had an extension to it which takes over and opens in SodaPDF.

It sounds like SodaPDF is still set as the default PDF handler in Chrome. Here’s how you can fully remove it:

Step 1: Remove SodaPDF as the Default PDF Viewer in Chrome
  1. Open Chrome and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Privacy and security.
  3. Select Site settings.
  4. Under Additional permissions, click PDF documents.
  5. Choose Download PDFs instead of opening them in SodaPDF.
Step 2: Remove SodaPDF Extension (If Installed)
  1. In Chrome, type chrome://extensions/ in the address bar and press Enter.
  2. Look for SodaPDF and click Remove.
Step 3: Reset Chrome’s Default PD
  1. Open Chrome Settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Advanced.
  3. Under Reset and clean up, select Restore settings to their original defaults.
  4. Confirm by clicking Reset settings.
Step 4: Clear Cache and Cookies
  1. In Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
  2. Select Cached images and files and Cookies and other site data.
  3. Click Clear data.
After following these steps, Chrome should stop redirecting PDFs to SodaPDF.
