Spotlight not working

I'm running Windows 11 Pro on laptop, version 22H2, build 22621.608. Spotlight is working on lock screen, but not on desktop. Personal settings/background is set on Windows spotlight, but wallpaper doesn't change (stays on Windows bloom). I have reset and re-registered according to the tutorial (.bat file), but it doesn't fix the issue. Is there anything else I can do ? Tnx.

Welcome to Eleven Forum.

I have seen that sometimes, most often after a Feature Update (eg. 21H2 to 22H2). I found that a right-click on the 'Learn about this picture' icon on the desktop, then selecting 'Switch to next picture' would start it working. Wait a few minutes after doing that to see if it gets going, it may not yet have downloaded any pictures.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 4GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Beta as native boot vhdx.

    My SYSTEM FIVE is a Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, Pentium Silver N5030, 4GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro, plus the Insider Beta, Dev, and Canary builds as a native boot .vhdx.

Tnx Bree. However, right-clicking on the "Learn about this picture" icon gives me the option "switch to next picture", but I cannot click on it because it's greyed out (see image). There are downloaded pictures, because the lockscreen changes daily. It drives me crazy.

Although all Spotlight pictures are downloaded to the same folder:
%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets
the use of lockscreen and desktop pictures are completely separate functions . A lockscreen image will never be used as a desktop, and vice versa.

I didn't know that a lockscreen image is never used as a desktop and that they are complete separate functions. I checked my assets folder and there are images in it. The reason why it's not working then, is a mystery for me (it's not country based I suppose). Well, I have to live with it I guess. Tnx.
