This is a great little App that lives in your systray and shows disk activity! Black is Idle, Red is Writing and Green is reading. You can set it for any or all Drives.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

The advantage of HDD Led is that you can position the LED Indicator(s) anywhere on the screen. Having it only in the taskbar would not be sufficient for me, since my taskbar is auto-hide.
But of course it's good to see open source options, too :)

I downloaded this and ran the setup.exe for it. It worked nicely, until I had to reboot. I guess it doesn't install itself to start at boot. I thought I'd just find it in Program Files and add it to the startup list, but not having any luck finding it.

How did you get it to start automatically?

I just installed it and haven't rebooted yet...if you right-click on the icon and then the Other Settings tab, have you checked 'start with windows'?

Can't do. I've rebooted since I installed it and now can't find it to restart it.

EDIT - Aha. I just ran the Setup.exe for it again, which I thought was an installation routine but appears to have been the program itself. And when it started, I clicked the option for "start with windows". Rebooted and voila!

About your UID - I paid the rent and car note writing Fortran on 370s. That's been a while.

The last time I wrote Fortran was during my days at URI on our System/360-50. Been dealing with mainframes professionally since 1973 and yes, it's paid many bills. Glad you got your app to survive across reboots.
