Solved Stop Videos from starting automatically in Edge

Is there a setting to prevent videos from playing automatically in Edge?
When reading the news on MSN, every page you go to has videos (often not related to the news story) that start playing as you scroll down the page.
I find this very distracting and a waste of bandwidth.
You have to stop them manually, often losing focus on the article you are reading.
I have yet to find a setting in Edge to turn this function off.

I use this chrome extension in Edge.

Hello @Brink, on Edge Win 11 you need to go to edge://flags- Autoplay and enable it to block rather than just limit.

Correct. That's included in the steps.

• Block = The block option is not available by default unless added as an expermental feature. Media that plays sound will be blocked from automatically playing. Changes will only be applied to new tabs.

Same here, it doesn't work Videos still autoplay even with the setting set to "Block".

Afraid not. I installed the extension and videos still autoplay on MSN.
So far no luck, but let's keep trying.

I agree - works on some sites, but no cigar yet

Can you give a link to your MSN page? Can't see any auto video playing on here,

I'm starting to think the secret sauce here is that "Media that plays sound will be blocked from automatically playing."
MSN videos all have the sound turned off by default.

Thanks, it works on some most videos, seems as if there is more than one video on the page the second one will play.
I'll do more testing and report back.

Here is a page that the video did play.
Update
Going back to the page the second time, the video didn't play
