I would like to know on how to take ownership like we did in the past OS, eg. Windows 7 and Windows 10 .. however when I tried using the REGISTRY patch for Windows 10 taking ownership method, it only applicable and works on folders, but not on Program Files, Program Files (x86), ProgramData and Windows.

Dont worry as I wont mess up my system, I just need to remove some unwanted files as I did in my previous version of Windows. Below is my Windows version screenshot. Thanks in advance !

Actually Windows 20H1 or close to it, changed something.
I have to remove inheritance, before I can change permissions.
Code:
takeown /s %computername% /u %username% /f "%WINDIR%\SystemApps\MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_cw5n1h2txyewy\SearchHost.exe"
icacls "%WINDIR%\SystemApps\MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_cw5n1h2txyewy\SearchHost.exe" /inheritance:r /grant:r %username%:F

takeown /s %computername% /u %username% /f "%SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Desktop" /r /d y

icacls "%SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Desktop" /inheritance:e /grant:r %username%:(OI)(CI)F /t /l /q /c

I just use Winaero Tweaker... Winaero Tweaker

It still won't work on the: Program Files, Program Files (x86), ProgramData and Windows folders, but it weorks on what's inside those folders.

That's the one I use, remember Shawn we had an issue and then I found that the O/S was not fully language neutral. Some terms like administrators has to be in the O/S region language. ;)
Oh yes. That issue is sorted out now though. The context menu references the Administrator SID instead of by name. The SID is universal no matter the language.
