For some strange reason when I click MS Edge on the Taskbar an error window pops up and Edge will not start. I am using my older Windows 10 laptop so do not have an image of the error popup. Hoping someone has a clue or if not I'll power my Win-11 laptop up and capture the image and pot it. Sorry for the amateur post, but I'm tired and not wanting to dig out the Win-11 PC. Thanks anyway, please excuse my dumb tired period, getting old. :)

Well, after a reset my laptop Windows 11 taskbar is back working okay, but of course it will take time to tweak it back to my liking. But, I think Win 11 works better than Win 10 in ways so will use it with glee. :)

Did you just ask for help, then not even bother to read the only reply, given with the answer you needed?
"Any Ideas" was answered in the post above yours with a link to a thread with all the possible solutions,

That window is clearly saying you did not have an App that can run the command "Open Edge".
Meaning the Edge App most likely wasn't even installed, all you actually needed to do was install the Edge App.
Which was covered in that linked thread, no need for that reset, if you'd just read the help provided.

Need further help by all means ask, but resetting/reinstalling the OS should be your last resort, not the first.

Thanks for the reply. I'm getting old and my patience runs The error just made no sense because the desktop icons worked fine and thin when dealing with new software, plus distractions around my home. I've working as an engineer and/or tech in the computer business sine 1960 and just observed way too many changes for me to digest, so I did go off in left field and reset Win 11. No problem, only time wasted while taking care of distractions. The error window just confused me, that's all. Someday you too will grow old, hopefully. :)

Also, the desktop icons and taskbar icons worked when following the pop-up windows. Just clinking the taskbar icon popped up the error. I just did not take time to dig deeper. My laptop works fine now and it is back to normal.

Actually, I did read it and applied the solution in the post, but it did not work. I fully understand the procedure; however, in my case it just did not answer me. Whatever the problem was it just didn't make sense, so I just reset Windows in my PC that is brand new and not used much. After my afternoon nap things cleared up; being old does it. But thanks anyway.
