Solved Taskbar items

Is it possible to disable the animation when you hover the mouse on opened minimized taskbar items? what I want is to click on the taskbar items and only then the small window preview will show instead of it showing directly by putting the mouse on them.

Don't think you can do what you describe as the task bar is a quick launch device.
You could disable the animation when hovering I think but, to simply click on a icon and
just have the animation appear without having the app come up ?

Try this :
Open Settings
Click on Accessibility.
Click the Visual effects tab.
Turn off the “Animation effects” toggle switch to disable the effects.

Just tried that and the animation when hovering over is still there.

I think there's a registry setting where you set hover mouse on minimized tab pop up delay to be 300 seconds or whatever. By using a large number the window is still going to pop up, but only if you hover constantly for 5 minutes.

I just applied the settings, rebooted and it's still the same.

Are you using an external app to modify the taskbar/start menu?

Now, pls create a Restore Point to make sure that if something else
messes with the OS, you can revert back to where you like it.
