Today getting an annoying virus popup notification every few minutes right hand lower corner

How do I get rid of this? It is fake fraudware no doubt.
I did not install anything, but did try to go to a website that said notifications blocked, and I unblocked it trying to view info about troubleshooting a fridge which always seemed to be a dead link. Afterwards this constant annoying thing.

yes, reset permissions in edge settings and I think it is gone, honestly what a waste of bandwidth this must be.

Malwarebytes is primarily a scanner that scans and removes malicious software, including rogue security software, adware, and spyware.
AdwCleaner is a free tool you can use to scan and remove adware, spyware, PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), browser hijackers, unwanted browser toolbars,
and any other hard to remove software that came preinstalled on your Windows PC.
Malwarebytes is designed to look for malware, and will also find some Potentialy Unwanted Programs (PUPs) and Potentially Unwanted Modifications (PUMs).
Adw is designed to look more specifically for PUPs and PUMs.
So for the moment the two things do different jobs, and that is why they are still different programs.
I believe that the intention is to eventually merge them into a future version of Malwarebytes, but for now they still each stand alone and do different jobs.

Hi folks
Another solution if you have another windows installation is to run WD from that install with "custom scan" and choose the "infected" windows device as the target - e.g G:\ or whatever device it's on.
Also check that there aren't any WD exclusions set up. Some malware adds WD exclusions so the malware doesn't get picked up.
