I have a Ryzen 7 1700 8 core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Super.

I had tpm 2.0 enabled, then an update about a week later seemed to be responsible for disabling it? So I went back into the BIOS to re-enable the tpm, but I cannot get it to enable, the option is there but will not enable and There is a message saying there is no security device available even though the tpm 2.0 is listed as an option? I am missing something and need a walkthrough if possible please?

Any advice on correcting this would be welcome, thanks in advance?

Yeah, it's very weird. I have no idea how it reset itself without user intervention and since it's a DYI it's not the MFG making changes behind the senses with some update software that's built in.

With either a DIY or OEM system, as @FreeBooter indicated, Windows doesn't have access to your BIOS. You'd have to either reset the BIOS or update it for things to change from what I understand.

I've read of a case where an HP system did some strange update to the BIOS. It was done by some weird maintenance software package included with it.

So I went back into the BIOS to re-enable the tpm, but I cannot get it to enable, the option is there but will not enable and There is a message saying there is no security device available even though the tpm 2.0 is listed as an option?
You have to select AMD CPU fTPM and save changes then reboot the computer. Once the computer reboots, enter BIOS again and the security device should be displayed.
See walkthrough "How to Check the TPM status" here

That's odd. I know it reset my BIOS to no enabled TPM when I updated the BIOS, but it never happened with a Windows update. I'm a little curious as to how a Windows update could even have access to your BIOS...

That because an update would not/should not make BIOS changes. I'm not sure what's happened with the OP's system, but it's highly improbable the installation/update reset the BIOS (TPM).

The whole thing just sounds odd to me, and I wonder if the OP is in the right places looking at the right settings?

Maybe I am not correctly setting up the tpm in the BIOS, I am no expert at working in the BIOS?

Per your screen shot... yep, you either have a problem with TPM or it isn't enabled in the BIOS (more likely not enabled).

Can't help you with the BIOS cause I've no idea what the layout looks like on a Micro-Star board, nor am I willing to play guessing games in what I might think what is where in the BIOS since you say you're not so good with the BIOS.

With that I will say the TPM setting is an Enable/Disable button or slider.

I have enabled and disabled the tpm settings in the BIOS many times and re-booted, but nothing seems to work? I get a message before re-booting that says nothing has been changed? On one occasion I did get a message that tpm 2.0 had been enabled, but when I was back in Windows there was still no tpm detected?
