I really hope I'm putting this in the right spot, its connected to my wi-fi network...

Troubleshooter will not run for the Network and Internet, no matter where I try it from. If I try through the wi-fi icon, nothing happens. If I try through Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel, it kicks me to the System>Troubleshoot in Settings. If I run it through that, I get an error that says:

This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app, or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page.

But I dont know how to do this, if that even is a thing I can do. So any help getting the silly thing working again would also be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Yeah, I removed the first issue from my OP cause I was able to get it to work through command prompt and not have the issue with my wi-fi borking out.

My second issue is still an issue though. Option 1 gives me the error I mentioned in my OP. Option 2 just takes me to the System troubleshoot panel. Does not open the way it shows on the page. Basically it just loops back to Option 1 and the error given.

Option 3 works but that is going to be a nightmare to remember when its not working and I'm frustrated as all heck. Bookmarking helps, but if my internet isnt working.....

Maybe you could make a PDF out of Option 3?
Or just select option 3 and copy paste into a notepad file. If there are images, save them to the same folder.

Yeah, I was thinking I'd have to do that. Just weird that the troubleshooter isnt working. When my whole misadventure started 4 hours ago, I was able to use the troubleshooter just fine. I dont know why it suddenly lost the association to the network/wi-fi card.

Have it saved with the command prompt option to disable "show more options" (in case my system re-enables it) and tucked onto a corner of my screen. Thank you!

Your Network or the troubleshooter?

Windows troubleshooters, never really worked that well.

Troubleshooter: Did that fix the problem?

User: Yes.

Troubleshooter: Great.

Or...

User: No.

Troubleshooter: Oh well. 🤷‍♂️

Every time you tweak something or fix something... write it down or take pics.
Save it on a storage drive, in a folder called: Win 11 Tweaks and Fixes
Don't save it on the Windows drive.

Here's some other things that may help with Windows 11...

Lol, repeatedly. Didnt do a dang thing.
Windows troubleshooters, never really worked that well.
Eh, true... but a lot of the time it if I ran it more than once, it would give me the option to "repair" the card (basically reboot the card, I guess) and that would usually fix the issue.
And I dont mean the Reset Network Adapter that results in a restart 5 minutes later, that didnt do squat. The one I mean was an option on an older Windows that did more than turning it off and back on. Pretty sure it was just "Repair Network Card/Adapter". Whatever it was, it was basically immediate and did not require a system restart.
Your Network or the troubleshooter?

If the troubleshooter, it’s possibly got something to do with the deprecation.

Troubleshooter, and that link doesnt help me any, but thank you. Like I said, at the start, it ran the troubleshooter fine (once) and then it just stopped opening plus it gives me the error I mentioned above.

This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app, or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page.

I'm wondering if it lost its association with the network adapter/card (for whatever reason) and thats the reason why it wont run. If anyone knows how to do the requested action for the network adapter/card, please let me know.
