Win 11 Ver 24H2
I am unable to login to my ASUS AX3000 router's GUI. I've done it before but it's been a while.

Both 192.168.1.1 and https://router.asus.com fails. Tried emptying browser caches (Chrome and Firefox) and using private windows but no help. I get "We can’t connect to the server at router.asus.com."

I discovered this while trying to troubleshoot not being able to connect a new Win 11 laptop to the home network. Maybe it's related? I have an active thread on that here Can't connect to router-attached HDD (shared drive)

The PC (Win 11 Ver 24H2) I'm using is connected direct to the router via Cat5. Internet is working. I have another laptop on the network via WiFi that's working fine.

Something has changed. I need to access the router and hopefully see if there's something that's preventing the new laptop from connecting. I'm hopeful I don't have to do a full router reset.

Please help me reach the router's GUI?

Thanks, Ken

Mostly used for photo retouching software & some video slideshows.
Try just using the router's IP address. If you do an IPCONFIG in a command window, it should be the Default Gateway address.

Remove the https:// and use http://
http://router.asus.com/ which is correct. I log into my ASUS Router this way. I've just logged in to it.

Trying to use https:// will result in this:

Win-1737.webp

If that doesn't work, reboot the router as mentioned above and tell us if it made a difference.

See the FAQ about Asus Device Discovery. Pick the correct router from the list so it will be in yellow, and click on Configure. I have two identical routers from Asus so they show up like this:

Device Discovery.webp
  • if you have selected HTTPS under Local Access Config in the router's settings like shown in the picture below, then you'll need to add the port number (by default, that would be:8443) to the end of the IP address that shows up in your browser after you click on Configure. So then it will look likehttps://192.168.0.xxx:8443instead ofhttps://192.168.0.xxx.

Router reboots didn't help. using http vs https isn't working either. :(

THANK YOU! The Device Discovery App returned an IP address totally different than what I used previously. It Worked! I'm in the GUI. :-)
