Updated Version of Outlook Mail (??)

Have looked at the New Version of Outlook Mail a couple months back, Apparently by Years end Microsoft will be Out with the old Version and in with the New Version.. My query is getting used to the New version and somethings are not working as they should.. Presently I have 6 email addresses listed 2 Outlook, 1 Hotmail, 1 Gmail, 1 Yahoo.com.. With the New Outlook Mail initially they were all listed and I could scroll down to the Email Address I wished to use.. That was short lived and for why I don't know.. Last time only my main Outlook email address showed , None of the others (??) I'm hesitant to Switch if there was a Bug and problem was not Fixed ?? Thoughts & Opinions Appreciated, Cheers Thanks...

New Outlook app is crapware from Microsuck at its finest. First time I tried it, through my IMAP account it couldn't even receive an important email message from a sender that happens to be the genuine mailer system of a major company that is registered on the stock exchange. The email message finally popped up 2 days later (in the spam folder, that is). Fuhgeddaboudit!

Welcome to the forum. Please advice WHICH outlook you are using. Outlook 365, Outlook 2021, or the built-in Outlook app that replaced Windows Mail. The first 2 are full fledged email applications. The third is a panned-down version with limited function.
For anyone trying to manage multiple email addresses the app is far from ideal. You might want to look into one of the free full-fledged email programs like Thunderbird. There are others.

    System 3 is non compliant Dell 9020 i7-4770/24gb ram Win11 PRO 26200.8457
It was the case that imap accounts couldn’t be added to Outlook Mail (the new mail app) but now that is fixed - I’ve added Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud & my isp email accounts fine.
I had to re-authorise these accounts by either entering the password/app specific password or confirming via signing into the account.
No combined inbox though but accounts can be accessed individually.

Currently does not even match the existing Mail App nevermind the desktop Outlook. Not compatible with some Email Accounts and lacking in features.
As of now, not worth installing. I would wait at least 6 months.

I've made several serious attempts to switch to the "New Outlook" for desktop and now have all my email accounts added except Northwestel.net. The error message is that I may need an "app password". A follow-up of that is confusing. An "app password" for the "New Outlook"? The Northwestel account is neither an app nor a device. Perhaps Northwestel.net is incompatible with the New Outlook. Any comments.

Can you activate 2FA in the Northwestl account?
I have email accounts from personal domains in Microsoft mail. When it switched me to Outlook, they remained intact. I shall retest it tomorrow.

But that cannot be done with a lot of these Email Accounts, that is the problem.
That is one of the problems with New Outlook and Microsoft needs to address that problem.

These accounts can be setup with the current Mail & Calendar App with no problem.

How exactly do you get an App Password for your Email Account, the info is very confusing, dense, and almost completely non-comprehensible to consumer users.

I have it installed and the one gripe I have with it is that it does not sync well with my Gmail account. In particular any action I perform in my folders outside of the Inbox does not get replicated back to the web.

So then how does MS's Outlook get permission to generate a password for the Northwestel email account? Seems to me Northwestel has to first allow MS to provide a P/W.

I received an important email I was waiting on, that had a file like this "message_v4.rpmsg" I could not even open it in Yahoo. I had to go to my outlook mail to open it. When it started to open, some how some way, it sent the password to open it to my Yahoo mail, I put in the password, and it opened up right away, so I forwarded it to my Yahoo mail.

I’ve already mentioned 2FA on Northwestel, have any of you tried activating it on your accounts?
Microsoft is starting to get strict with 2FA

Turn on 2FA for Northwestel, download MS Authenticator
Add your Northwestel account to Authenticator. Then to Outlook. See what happens
I can’t investigate as I don’t have Northwestel

I see no sign of 2FA for NorthwesTel email nor any link for security settings.

They have a very clear tutorial on how to add an email account to Outlook but not specifically New Outlook. That process fails to allow New Outlook to get into the incoming mail server indicating an authentication issue. (In the fullness of time I will contact them and post back here.)

They may not have updated their security settings to allow for app passwords so contacting them would be best. Their email service needs to be compatible with modern browsers which require OAuth 2.0 security in order to sync.
