Using a laptop as a 2nd monitor

Played with another cool thing today - Wireless Display. I have an old laptop that technically is not supported by Win 11 running a 6th gen Intel CPU. I installed the Windows optional Wireless Display feature on it and am amazed at how well this works. Just like with a 2nd monitor you can duplicate your display to that screen or extend your display to it, exactly as with a 2nd monitor. I've tried this on 4 machines now over the past few hours and it has been 100% flawless for me.

If anyone is interested in this, I can write up a step-by-step on how to set this up. Just let me know and I'll get it written up.

On the machine that you want to connect to wirelessly (the machine you will use as the 2nd monitor), install the "Wireless Display App" as shown in the first tutorial linked to below.

NOTE: My preference is to run the command line to install it because all it takes is one single command.

IMPORTANT: Whether you choose to use the GUI or use the command line method to install the Wireless Display App, it can take a really long time (30 minutes or more) to install on some systems. Progress may appear frozen at times. Be patient and allow it to finish!

NOTE: Wireless display runs within the Wireless Display app. Make it full screen for a completely seamless experience, otherwise it will just be displayed within the window. This works great for me, even handling YouTube videos with ease on a 9 year old laptop I tried.
