By enabling or disabling certain 8 digit "ID numbers", you can turn Windows 11 features ON or OFF.
In many cases, Vivetool is the "only" way to enable/disable certain features.
Make sure you use 3rd party backup software, before you start "tweaking" Windows. ^^

These numbers don't seem to work on Windows 10.

1. Go here and download ViVeTool-v0.3.3.zip
2. Create a folder in C:\ called zVIVE (you can name the folder whatever you want)
3. Extract the contents of the .zip file you downloaded to: C:\zVIVE (or the folder name you chose)
4. Open an elevated (as admin), command prompt.
5. Type: cd C:\zVIVE (use the folder name you chose)
6. When the prompt changes to... c:\zVive, type:

Here are some Vivetool ID numbers we know.
Copy/paste one of these commands in Command Prompt to toggle the feature.
Reboot to apply the changes.
Use the opposite of enable or disable, to undo the changes.

vivetool /disable /id:37634385,36354489 <---- Disable File Explorer Tabs
vivetool /disable /id:40729001,37634385 <---- may need this also, after 23H2, to prevent File Explorer crashes.

These two commands will break File Explorer, after 22631.3085

For anyone that used ViveTool to disable File Explorer tabs, you need to run these two commands to "enable" File Explorer tabs...

vivetool /enable /id:37634385,36354489
vivetool /enable /id:40729001,37634385

vivetool /disable /id:42922989 /priority:service <---- turn Taskbar search bar, dark

vivetool /enable /id:39696859 <---- Restore the context menu in File Explorer's LEFT pane

vivetool /disable /id:44571814,44573982 <---- Remove "System" labels from START Menu

vivetool /enable /id:39263329 /variant:3 <---- Set search icon back to magnifying glass

vivetool /enable /id:41314201,41655236 <---- Enable seconds on System clock?

vivetool /enable /id:44774629,44776738,44850061,42105254,41655236 <---- enable Copilot?

There's also a Vivetool with a GUI, but I don't use it...

What do you use for hardware info? SystemInformer and TrafficMonitor fit nicely into the taskbar.

Followed instructions to the T - I already had TTB installed from the Win 11 Store, but used the shortcut from the downloaded portable version nonetheless.
Then after I got an error (details below), I removed TTB from the Win 11 Store and only had the portable version, once again following Part A and B correctly.
On startup of Windows I get the same error:
"The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140_ATOMIC_WAIT.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem"

Any ideas?
Update: - figured it out, that file is from a VC Redist that wasn't installed.
Here's a link for anyone who has the same error:

This may come in handy, for new and old programs...

After running the All-In-One installer (install_all.bat), open Programs and Features and uninstall any with "older" version numbers.
When finished, it should look like this...

Image1.png

You may notice... there's an x86 and x64 version for each year or group of years.
For anyone that runs old programs, games, etc., and even newer ones... this comes in really handy. :-)

When I see that there are so many 'tweaks' and steps to perform just to get my taskbar transparant I think I quit and start to live with a non-transparant taskbar and wait until there is a tool that does the job with just one mouse-click.

Update; I have SAB version 3.6.2.4653 and I can confirm that this version is working with KB5022913. So I have my transparant taskbar back and the funny thing is, I really love the taskbar icons centered while I always had the taskbar to the right side of the screen.

Correct. And then all the problems began. But with the latests version of SAB everything is working fine now.

Actually, SAB was broken as well. But SAB's author(s) fixed it fairly fast.
To be honest... running ViveTool is not quite... "so many 'tweaks' and steps to perform".

Be aware the Vivetool key 26008830, that disables STTest no longer works on Beta build 22624.1465. It resets to enabled every time you reboot now.

Hi all. I created a smaller taskbar by modifying the TaskbarSi Value Data in the Registry to read "0". However, the last Windows 11 update (16mar23) reverted it to the default size. It doesn't matter what value I now type in there, I'm stuck with the default size. I was advised to run Part B of this tool. However, here's what I get when I run -

PS C:\zVIVE> vivetool /disable /id:26008830
vivetool : The term 'vivetool' is not
recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function,
script file, or operable program. Check the
spelling of the name, or if a path was
included, verify that the path is correct and
try again.

Can anyone see the problem here?

Yes, I can see the problem, vivetool.exe is not in your zVive folder BUT
have you read the post before yours?

No problem. :-)
You might want to consider some free backup software like AOMEI Backupper.

Click on "Yes, I want this" and follow the yellow brick road.

I've used Sharewareonsale for several years and it's a safe place to go.
