Wake computer for backup automatically

I use Macrium Reflect Free for image backups after hours. The program has a "wake computer to run" option. However, I have found that it does not work, apparently because the computer stays asleep. I have also tried all sorts of scripts (many are recommended on line) to run from Scheduler prior to the scheduled backup hour, none accomplishes the task, the backup program simply does not run.

The only certain way to avoid this problem is tov use the "never sleep" setting in Power Options, then Macrium runs unfailingly every time.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a script which is "strong enough" to actually wake the machine prior to running the backup. As I said before I've tried many of those recommended, none works!

All suggestions appreciated.

I use TodoBackup so it may be different, but you either need a scheduled task to wake up a computer, or the program needs a service running. I would look at your your Startup programs (I use CCleaner>Tool>Startup) to see if that program has an entry in the startup programs. If not look at Task Scheduler to see if it has a task there and look at the properties to see if there is a problem. Often times the Task Scheduler will show error codes.

I've used MR to wake up for a backup, it worked for me. Make sure you've got Allow wake timers enabled in Windows/BIOS

I'm not familiar with MR. Would you please indicate what it is and how it's used?

Thanks. Macrium no longer works through Scheduler, it has its own set up. Also Macrium works perfectly on schedule when power setting is "never sleep".
