Walmart vs. Me

I created a Walmart account fairly recently to take advantage of free shipping for a heavy package and their having the best price. Today I tried to take advantage of the account a second time for free shipping on a light package with the best price. Clicking on "Sign In Account using Firefox simply returns the cursor to the page, even with all extensions disabled, but using an extension-free Edge works.

I am finally setting up a Dell XPS 85650 for my wife, which will be vastly simpler than my 8560, but I tried logging in on the 8650, which worked.

Using my 10-pound sledge hammer would likely be a bad idea, so other ideas would be appreciated.

So, it sounds like it's a Firefox issue. Did you clear the history/cache and try it again?

However, my real reply to you is that I had not thought about clearing the history cache and retrying logging on; therefore you reply is certainly appreciated, your suggestion will be tried and I will post my finding as soon as I can follow your advice.

Unfortunately clearing the cache did not solve the mystery.

As for quick response, there were times in my career as volunteer fire chief of the two volunteer fire departments I started, the first of which I served as the first career chief for my last three or so years, there were times that quick response would have been welcomed, as volunteer firefighters often are, for example, at work a distance from the area we covered and, thus, had to take some time to respond.

I've had more problems like this with Firefox than I can count. A misbehaving page always works with Chrome or Edge. Firefox gets updated abnormally frequently; I don't know if they're adding features or smashing bugs.

This is a forum, on the Internet, hardly comparable to a fire station.

In some instances people in here are 10's of thousands of miles apart but could answer within seconds if they are online.

As Marcus said, go in and clear the cookies for any Walmart domain. You can clear just that one site. There's a lot of data that sites save on your machine through "Web data". This will clear it all.

If that doesn't help try restarting FFox in Troubleshooting Mode via Help -> Troubleshoot Mode. If that helps, you have an Extension/Plug-in issue.

Problems can be if you changed something in about:config (Show only modified preferenced).
You can drop all the settings deleted by prefs.js in the profile folder.

No, that is one thing I had not thought about until a sysop on MozillaZine suggested it in a message I read a short while ago, thanks. I shall do that to see if it might be the miscreant.

That is something that I have not done as far as I know, although "far" is likely not very far, so I shall check that.
