Want to fully scan my pc for everything.

read carefully when DL'ing. Otherwise 'Browser Guard' or something else may slip past you.

I'm confident it is fine and could be easily removed if one wanted to. But some people, like myself, prefer not to use extensions.

I will add one thing about browser guard, it will block things that Malwarebytes Premium can not. That is why it is "pushed" as it is.
It is an additional layer of protection.
But some people, like myself, prefer not to use extensions.
No problem. I just did not you to give the overall impression that it is bad to this community.

Hello, Bryan.

Welcome to ElevenForum.

Sorry I'm late to the party.

Use your Windows Security (aka Defender), to run a 'Full' scan. You can also use it to run an 'Off Line' scan. It's consistently ranked among the best.

If you don't have Malwarebytes installed, get the free version, and run it. it's great for finding and removing malware, spyware, keyloggers and so on.

Malwarebytes Free.

Malwarebytes AdwCleaner, is a good tool, as well. I recommend you try it. You can get the Free edition too.

AdwCleaner Free

Also, a little used tool provided by Microsoft is MSRT. It will find any malicious software, that may have found it's way onto your PC. There is no tutorial on it here at ElevenForum, but there is one on TenForums That should work just the same. I use 'Option One'. Trigger a 'Full' scan. Great tool.

How to run an MSRT scan.

I hope this gives you a few helpful options. Best of luck!

Regards, WXC.

@Bryan123,

RE: My last post...

Just a word of caution, if you decide to DL Malwarebyter Free or AdwCleaner Free, although perfectly safe, read carefully when DL'ing. Otherwise 'Browser Guard' or something else may slip past you.

I'm confident it is fine and could be easily removed if one wanted to. But some people, like myself, prefer not to use extensions.

I'm going to correct something for you, Skippy.

If you took the time to read both post of mine, I did nothing but praise Malwarebytes, and AdwCleaner.

I further went on to suggest he be careful when downloading the free versions, otherwise Browser guard may slip by him. But that it was perfectly safe, would be fine, and could be easily removed, if he chose not to use extensions.

I could have told him, that for a fact, it is pushed in fine print. But I was being tactful.

So my advice to you is back the hell off, before telling me " you didn't want me to give the overall impression that it is bad, to this community".

Don't even think of trying to impugn my integrity. You're nothing more than a member here just like me, and you best keep that in mind.

My conversation with you, is concluded.

Hi folks
I have yet to see any malware or problem that WD fails to find that other especially free 3rd party AV systems find once you've identified any false positives.

I'm also surprised how many people when posting about security systems often also forget decent routers themselves have all sorts of decent logs and rules available to block "Uninvited guests" and also log events on what's trying to get into your system.

To get to the router's utility panel the address (on IPV4 routers) is usually like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.xx.1 but see the manual for specific address on your router. There's probably a user login and password to access the control panel but that might be taped underneath the router or in its handbook if you still have one. Often though the default login and user is ADMIN/PA55WORD orADMIN/PASSWORD if you haven't changed it. For IPV6 only routers check the manual for user logon.

Note - you need to use the firewall / security / rules / utilities settings - called different things on different routers -- not the WAN settings which is how the router is configured to the ISP / fibre optic cable system.

Cheers
jimbo

Totally agree - poor OP getting advised to seek specialists - talk about over the top advice!

Customer - what petrol do I need in this car?
Expert - Go to garage and do a full service.
