Had eye exam at the VA. No glaucoma, no cataracts, and, The optician said: "You want new glasses?"
I said: "As long as they aren't those huge black plastic military glasses".
He took me in another room, and said... here pick your frames. They had like 40 different styles, all modern and decent looking.
So I picked a set of frames, and went back to his office. I said... you know my glasses are really expensive, due to my prescription.
The pair I'm wearing cost $1100.00
He said no problem, and they are progressive no-line bifocals and have "high index of refraction lenses".
(They bend the light faster, so they can be made much thinner).
I'm like.... well OK!
He said they'll arrive in your mail in 1 to 2 weeks.
For the past 25 years, people that did NOT have "service connected" injuries, couldn't get glasses from the VA.
Apparently that has changed.
I still can't read the forum very well... damn pupil dilating eye drops.
