What is the size to enter for simple no resiliency drives in storage spaces ?

Hi

I have two drives 8tb + 8tb when I create a storage space pool it prompt me to create 8tb , should I make it 16tb ? and in theory can I make it bigger for ex 20tb ?

you can go for 16tb, but if there is ever an issue you will most likely loose everything. Storage Spaces allows you to add other non similar size disks at anytime across a variety of connection types.

I tried to create second letter drive with space exceed both hard drives size it did not mind !! how is that ?

Because each pool is a virtual drive, it can be carved up just like any physical drive, creating vitual drives within a virtual drive. :-)

It won't, if there is not enough room on a virtual drive you will get a disk full message just like normal, the virtual drives are not dynamic.
One other thing to be aware of, if you want to remove a disk (physical) from the pool you will need to delete data or back it up elsewhere first if the total amount of data across all drives exceeds the capacity of the remaining disks.

How to enter then the exact size of both drives so I dont get hit by lack of space message ? also to know how much I have left. problem that size sometimes reported for 8tb like 7.8 and other sources 7.6 so how I know
