Poco F3....High on specification....much cheaper than Samsung and iPhone....better value and in some cases out perform the afore mentioned makes.

I refuse on point blank principle to buy overpriced garbage from Apple.
It’s overpriced yes, but since support is offered for 7 years on Os (at most, that it) I can buy one brand new and know I don’t have to change for that full time, whereas with android I might change every 2 years, even if that costs £300 per phone, after seven years your looking about £1000, around the same as a brand new iPhone (but in my case, I went with the SE which costs £400 but gets the same support), so I am saving money through apple.

And I don’t have to wait for months for T-Mobile to test and approve android updates, get them directly from apple, even beta updates. Also works well paired with a MacBook Pro

Airdrop is AMAZING. Also, for example in WhatsApp, I find that sending voice messages and using the camera inside of WhatsApp is much worse on even the best android phones, Since there are so many, so they can’t be optimised

Your cost comparison is a highly exaggerated example.

I have never paid more than £150 for a phone and I only change every 4 years or so. After 7 years, most I have spent is £300.

However, if you like to kid yourself you are not overpaying, then if it makes you feel better - fine.

This phone came with the house back in 1973!
50 years and counting..., not a single dime invested! :zany:

I know you are kidding but I seriously doubt any exchanges could handle an analogue (youngsters will not know what that means any more lol) phone in most of the world these days?

I use either a Samsung A22 5G or a Doro 6620. The Samsung for all its smart features and the Doro for when I won't need them. Often prefer to take this one out with me because Its compact and goes in any pocket.

Funny you should post this thread. I JUST 15 minutes ago I finished setting up my new Iphone SE. If any of you out there don't want a clunky big ol' smart phone and/or do not want to spend $1000+on a new iphone, I highly recommend it. It's the exact same size as my old iphone 6 and cost me $429.

LOVE my SE. I hate big phones with huge passion and this packs performance, 5g (on the 3rd model), camera, software updates for another 4/5 years and more!

Samsung Z fold 3 also nothing invested except the monthly 5€. A very nice phone/mini-tablet. I certainly wouldn't pay out for it though.

I've got an iPhone 7 Plus, I never get the latest model as I don't use it enough to warrant the cost. I only use it for taking photos and text messaging my daughter plus facetime with my eldest son.

I got it from Amazon and bought it from their renewed guaranteed for a year dept. It was November 2020 and paid £274.95 for it, it still keeps a good charge and I'm very happy with it. I had a Windows phone at the time but that was tied to Microsoft too much and was a bit short on apps.

Just having rid of a 7 (standard) the only things I could fault (for me) were:
  1. Bad battery
  2. Out of date OS
  3. Slow and could be glitchy
But it was 7 years old. Fantastic phone!
