As of April 23rd, you can now install whatsapp on up to 4 devices (phones, tablets) using same account as primary host device.
So you can use either phone to use whatsapp. 2nd device does not even need a SIM card.
Be careful though if you install it on your "true love's" device as all messages are visible LOL
