Why does the build 348 description mention fixed problems with Internet Explorer? Is it available for Windows 11 at all?

Did you read the build 348 description?On my Win11 Pro putting iexplore.exe in the Run box brings up Edge. The presence of the name may be associated with the Internet Explorer Mode in Edge.

Chances are that version of Edge has bits that are leftover from IE and are needed for old websites.

IE Mode is using elements of IE, even in Windows 11, so it makes sense for MS to refer specifically to IE in the description when these elements get updated.If you're seeking an absolute answer as to why there are references to IE when it is absent from Win 11, I doubt that anyone here knows.

The MSHTML (Trident) engine is the underlying platform for Internet Explorer 11. This is the same engine used by IE mode and it will continue to be supported (in other words, unaffected by this announcement). Both WebOC and the MSHTA app will continue to be supported as they rely on the MSHTML engine which is unaffected by this announcement....
Support for IE mode follows the lifecycle of current and future Windows client, Windows server, and Windows IoT releases (including Windows 11) at least through 2029. Additionally, Microsoft will give one year of notice before retiring the IE mode experience when the time comes....
