Why I dont have Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling

Hi

I have RX 6800 XT and driver updated but I dont see this option Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling why is that ?

Might want to try an in-place repair install/upgrade. It is often the only way to get missing stuff to show up in Windows (11 included). I've not experience your particular brand of woe, but am struggling with the "Advanced startup" option in Recovery in similar fashion. If I run a CU or an upgrade that option disappears; run an in-place repair install, and it comes back. Might work for you, too. Good luck!

You need Windows 10 version 2004 minimum, and WDDM 2.7 minimum and support within the drivers for it.
From what I gather AMD enabled the feature in their 20.05.1 Beta drivers, but not in newer drivers.
Enabling via registry 'hack' doesn't seem to work.
Your best bet is to pursue this through AMD's user forums, might be some help there or at least a timeline.

Edit: After some more research it appears you can get the feature working by installing the UWP version of the AMD driver package. Your results may vary, so I suggest you back up your current system to an image before testing.

You may just have to wait for AMD to update their drivers, with all the new cards out this last couple of years and the changing of how Windows handles CPU, GPU scheduling, plus smart access and FSR, I would imagine the driver engineers are a bit overworked at the moment, maybe GPU scheduling is low down in the priority list.

You may not even benefit from it if you could enable it, the option seems to work best on low end CPU/ GPU combinations, diminishing as the hardware scales up. Most reports of testing the feature show minimal differences both up and down in performance, mostly no change at all, at least in it's current incarnation.

Run dxdiag. (You can do it from the search box.) On the "display" tab, at the right, it'll give the WDDM version of your drivers.

I think that the latest Adrenaline drivers for a 6800XT have been WDDM 3.0 for a while, no hacks required. I'm pretty sure WDDM 3.0 was present for a 6900XT a few months ago. (I've since switched to an nVidia card, for CUDA support. I'm not a crypto miner, though.)

I don't want to risk insult, but you (William654) are looking in (settings) System>Display>Graphics, and you've then clicked "change default graphics settings". which takes you to System>Display>Graphics>Default graphics settings?

Does anyone notice any benefit enabling this feature? I did some quick research about it, and some sites suggest that it only benefits lower end computers. I've enabled it, but I can't say that I've noticed any difference.

The end of my post above mentions the same about performance, I believe Gamers Nexus and Linus Tech Tips went into this in detail, performance was plus or minus 3-5fps depending on game, or no change, with better performance on low end systems with mainly CPU bound games.

I don't know why the option isn't present for you.

If you're up for making changes to the Windows Registry, you might be able to get it that way.
