Windows 11
Hi, yesterday I noticed that the Wi-Fi icon had disappeared from the System tray in Windows 11 , and I can't figure out the cause. Is it possible to restore it?

Is your wi-fi working properly, even with the icon missing?

Two things you've probably tried already:

Reboot and see whether it shows up.

Disconnect your router's power supply (at the wall, not at the router), give it 30 seconds, and then plug it in again.

And a third thing is, of course, to check Taskbar Settings, Taskbar corner icons, Taskbar corner overflow, to make sure the icon for wi-fi is ON.

Yeah, the Wi-Fi works. I checked Taskbar Settings, but in Windows 11 you can only manage the overflow of user programs, not system programs, in fact the 3 icons Wi-Fi, audio and battery are in a single array.

So I tried enabling the Windows 10 shell with StartIsBack, and the Wi-Fi icon works correctly.

Well, you and I both know you shouldn't have to use a user-interface tweaker to get your wi-fi icon to show up, so I hope something else occurs to me or to you somewhere down the road. Good luck with StartisBack.

Maybe you misunderstood me, I used SiB to test if in Windows 10 mode the Wi-Fi icon was present, I didn't say I use SiB

My bad. I misunderstand easily. Comes with being a senior senior citizen.

If I come across any ideas for you, I'll post. If you solve the problem, please post so others may benefit.

Have you tried restarting explorer.exe? or a network reset in settings? I know this is may have been done through our first troubleshooting but worth a shot :D
