ASRock is always something I'm interested in, but last time I wanted to purchase one.

I was convinced by one of my friends to steer clear of ASRock, but it happened 6 years ago.

Because If I go for a new mobo this means I have to get DDR5 and this will be over budget
If I can upgrade the CPU with my current motherboard, then I have enough money for a new GPU.

Use PCPartpicker as a tool.
It will let you know if things are compatible.


The 10900K and the 11900K are the biggest, baddest chips that will go in your motherboard.


Here's how I did it...

Go to PCPartpicker.
At top left choose: Builder
At top right choose: Start New
Then go to "Products"...and click on CPUs

On the left-side navigation, choose Intel, and scroll down and choose: LGA 1200 <---- the socket on your motherboard.
Then, on top right, click on the "price" column, until you have the highest prices at the top.
There you will see the fastest CPUs, that will go into your LGA 1200 socket motherboard.

Also check your current Windows licence. If it's OEM, rather than Retail, you will not be able to transfer it to a new motherboard.
