I wanted to add a shortcut to Powershell to the Win + X menu but when I opened the folder, it's already there. Anyone know why it doesn't show in the menu?

The folders containing the shortcuts can be accessed at %LocalAppdata%\Microsoft\Windows\WinX Powershell is in the Group 3 folder for me but does not show in the menu. It's not the only shortcut missing but is the only one I really want.

I tried adding a Powershell shortcut to the Group 1 folder but that didn't work either. In Win 10 (and earlier) there was an option in the Taskbar settings to replace Command Prompt with Powershell in this menu but I can't see that in Win 11.

Hello mate, :)

PowerShell is not in the Win+X menu by default.

Did you use the method in the tutorial below to add PowerShell? If a hash wasn't added to the shortcut using this method, it will not work.

Thanks Brink. I didn't know that so I tried it and it didn't work either. I tried it by putting the shortcut in Group 1 and then in Group 2 but neither worked

I restarted explorer.exe after I ran the command

In your first screenshot, you have more than one shortcuts with the exact same name.

If you like, try having them with different names to see if they may show up then.

I'll try that but none of those were added by me. I only added Powershell to Group1 and then to Group2.

I wanted to add a shortcut to Powershell to the Win + X menu .... It's not the only shortcut missing but is the only one I really want.
There are shortcuts for Windows Terminal and Windows Terminal (Admin) on the Win+X menu. By default Windows Terminal opens at Powershell.

If you delete the WinX folder and restore the WinX folder from the tutorial below, do you have all the default items back in the WIn+X menu?
