Solved Win11 S mode sign in option

I am new to Win11 S mode would like to start up my laptop without needing to use my pin or password. In the security setting in settings, I have these options
1) Facial recognition
2) fingerprint
3) Pin hello (my system is set to ask for pin number)
4) Security key
In option 4 I see it is to reset the pin, but if I enter the pin and leave the other entries Blanck it wants a pin. What command changes no entry needed to open my computer?
Been able to figure things out except this one all searches have not clearly tells me right option or searches show an option not correct.

I am administrator tried using pin sign in option. Entered pin left two other boxed blank, then I am told to enter pin. Reminder I am using Win11 in S mode. What am I doing wrong?

You'll need to enter your password in netplwiz instead of PIN.

I went to netplwiz under run my account shows up as administrator, but the change password command is grayed out. I guess this S mode is more of a pain then its worth.

Not sure if different in S but if you set up a PIN then go to settings -Account -sign-in options turn off " For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign -in for Microsoft accounts on this device (Recommended).

Then run netplwiz and you should see this option available to untick. Follow on going prompts.

that is my issue S Mode is different commands as you can see here my screen different than yours

You can turn off For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device in your screenshot above to then be able to have and uncheck the box in netplwiz.

That's because I've already created a PIN. Create a PIN (and remember it) then turn off that setting I circled previously.

I turned off( For improved security, only allow Windows hello sign-in for Microsoft and work or school accounts 0n this device) it made no difference I still need to either use a pin or Microsoft password When I click user account using run/netplwiz account comes up, but nothing happens

Just to confirm, did you follow the steps in option 1 below exactly for the account you want to have signed in to automatically at startup?

I go to the user accounts it says administrator but (not, users) I have tried clicking on highlighted user in box , the second screen does not appear. I use the enter key closes the users box.

It says here that it is for all versions of Windows but I don't know if S mode makes a difference. It also shows you need to create a PIN and then turn the setting off. Anyway worth a look,

You cannot run netplwiz in S mode as far as I know. Frankly, S mode is just too restrictive for normal users.

Use this. I have used for about 2 years now and it is the easiest method plus its made by Microsoft. I never have to login. Just do NOT set a pin.facial rec etc and use this.

that I do not know but it doesnt hurt to try it. Honestly, I dont even know what S mode is..lol. Sorry its the first time ove heard of it.

S mode is a PITA, you can't even install a decent backup program

just try the Autologon and let us know if it works. I just read what S mode is and it shouldnt matter this app should work

I don't use S mode (too restrictive) but the OP does. It only allows you to install from the Microsoft Store.
