Just "meaningless" support. Many ATMs still use XP in 2024. Unless something is broken, you should upgrade to 11.

Win11 was officially released in Oct. '21, many older computers won't properly meet the system requirements for Win11. I've had it on a computer from 2014 but had to do some tweaking to do it, the CPU was too old and it didn't have the TPM device. That computer was junked but I saved the NVMe M.2 256GB drive, RAM and Wireless adapter for possible later use.

Same here except my Win10 is our main desktop. Office 2007 including Outlook,Quicken, Turbo Tax and a bunch of utilities for cloning/backup, anti-spyware, anti-malware, etc. for Won't be replacing it with Win11 until it dies and may even look for a used Win10 box. Not worried about end of support. IMO MS has a terrible record when it comes to releasing "updates". Still have a Win7 desktop running a weather radar app 24/7 non-stop for many years now. We do have a Win 11 laptop in my hamshack but I'm using that for some basic functions and later possibly for some ham radio apps. I also sync my Win10 data files to the laptop as an extra backup to those files.

My own guess on this is that Microsoft might play dirty at EOL for Win10. As it stands Defender Anti-virus is part of Win10 and deeply embedded in the system. What Microsoft might do as a parting gift to users is to stop supplying anti-virus definition updates and constantly nag users that their system is 'insecure'. I deem that possibility. (Or maybe I'm just paranoid.) You wanna' use Win10 with a constant nag?

Maybe, I certainly wouldn't put it past them. I truly wonder what the posts will be like next fall.

What a load of boring nonsense.

MS still do av updates for W7 and W8.

Their reputation would suffer big time if they did such a stupid stunt.

PS avoid gambling if you guess like that.
