Apparently 24H2 will begin to gradually roll out to everyone starting on Sept 24.

As Dirtyflash says (11:08am) -

Does that means the current Preview 26100.1742 build is rolling out as the public release?

Yet UUP (and this site) have been offering 24H2 updates for quite some time.

Is there a sensible answer to this, I wonder ?

Gonna try the msu for 26100.1742. The current installation is resolutely backed up.

I have no idea... and now it seems that MS have changed their minds and 24H2 will be rolling out from Oct on... 😒

Since they never announced it, I'm not sure how you know they changed their minds. Perhaps you mean ghacks jumped the gun, made assumptions, and changed their story?

Correction: I guess they didn't change the story. The original ghacks article is still up there. 🙄

I read a blog article by MS, that's how I know they changed their minds and now it seems 24H2 will be slowly rolling out starting Oct 8. I'm presuming they needed more time to sort things out and make sure the official release is with as few bugs (if any), etc as possible.
