Try upgrading using the iso. A failure message would help us.

the way i have managed to update 3 systems with 24H2 is to completely disconnect from the internet.
disable wifi and ethernet .. when the upgrade window opens change the settings to dont install updates.

this worked on 2 of the systems the 3rd, a dell laptop, i had to wipe the SSD and do a complete clean install.

hope this is of help, best of luck. Steve ..

If no error message occurs, You can look at the upgrade log files to get an idea of what's causing the failure . The following log files are created when an upgrade fails during installation before the computer restarts for the second time. You have to look atwWhichever log applies to the step of the upgrade that failed. Example: Since mine rolled back I got all the way to the last step so I found mine in C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.err

  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setupact.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\miglog.xml
  • C:\Windows\setupapi.log
  • [Windows 10:] C:\Windows\Logs\MoSetup\BlueBox.log
  • C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.app.log
  • C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\PreGatherPnPList.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\PostApplyPnPList.log
  • C:\Windows\memory.dmp
The following log files are created when an upgrade fails, and then you restore the desktop:
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setupact.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\miglog.xml
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\panther\setupapi\setupapi.dev.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\panther\setupapi\setupapi.app.log
  • C:\Windows\memory.dmp
The following log files are created when an upgrade fails, and the installation rollback is initiated:
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.err

I'm sorry, but I NEVER trust MS Updates! Your own experience is just one more, of thousands of examples, of updates that have failed.
24H2 is different enough in its core, to warrant a Clean Install.
When 24H2 first became available to me, I went to the site (not MS) and downloaded the ISO for Windows 11/Pro/64, 24H2, and then I used Rufus to burn that ISO to a new Flash Drive. And I took EVERY option from the Options menu.
Then I installed 24H2 from that Flash Drive to a clean SSD. I'm running 24H2 from that SSD NOW! NO MS updates, NO Problems!

When the direction you've chosen Fails, then Change Directions.

I've seen that....when I install a new version of Windows and don't let the installer RE-Format the C: drive. It's a mistake on my part.
So, when that happens, I re-do the install, and I direct the Windows Installer to RE-Format the C: partition.
My Data is never at risk, because it's NEVER on my C: drive, but on another drive all together.

On the above example, it looks like you made the Mistake, not just once, but TWICE! Twice bad! Quit that!
