There are Windows 11/10/7 and XP on my local networking. Windows 11 was 24H2. Its networking setting followed this.

All computers could see each other.

Two weeks ago, 24H2 upgraded to 25H2.
  1. Since then, all computers could see each other except 25H2 to 25H2. I have read similar case. What is the solution? Un-install KB5066835? old post.
  2. My Samsung laser printer cannot be installed. it uses USB port. my guess that's also networking issue or USB port issue.

You could try the following:

  • Turn Windows Features On or Off
    • Open: Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
    • Verify the following:
      • SMB 1.0/CIFS Client = Unticked
      • SMB 1.0/CIFS Server = Unticked
      • SMB Direct = Ticked
  • Check Network Profile
    • Ensure your network is set to Private, not Public.
  • Open Group Policy Editor (Windows Pro only)
    • Press Win + R > type: gpedit.msc
  • Disable Network Client Signing Requirements
    • Navigate to:
      Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options
    • Open each of the following:
      • Microsoft Network Client: Digitally sign communications (always)
      • Microsoft Network Client: Digitally sign communications (if server agrees)
    • Set both to: Disabled
    • Click OK.
  • Enable Insecure Guest Logons (if required)
    • Navigate to:
      Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Lanman Workstation
    • Open: Enable insecure guest logons
    • Set to: Enabled
    • Click OK.
  • Reboot

On top of that I’ve discovered that Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level - Send NTLMv2 response only cured my Credentials challenge issue between 22H2 and 25H2 machine

Because the File explorer, Network section has been duff since Windows 10 Version 1803 and displays no signs of ever being fixed.
Sometimes it displays nothing, sometimes it displays some network computers, sometimes it displays all the network computers.
This is not an indication that there is anything wrong with your network.

Like many others, I've made shortcuts to my network computers instead and never waste my time looking at the File explorer, Network section.
If shortcuts don't work then this is an indication that there is something wrong with your network.

My whole mess started when 24H2 was released. Since then I have removed the update on ALL my PCs except one, which is what I use to try to solve the network issues but nothing has worked. So all other PCs here are still on 23H2.

I did clean-install. the problem then is gone. I was using a clone of Windows 11 25H2.
