Windows 11 Home, 24H2, build 26100.6584
For the past month or so, Windows 11 (v. 24H2, OS build 26100.6584) has been randomly freezing or crashing on my 5-year-old ASUS FX706IU (TUF Gaming A17). When the laptop freezes, the windows background turns green. When it crashes, I get stop codes such as:
UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION
0xc000021a
CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF)
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A)

Event viewer shows: Kernel-Power Event ID: 41 Task Category: (63)
bug check codes include: 26, 122, 154, 239 and 340

After Googling these errors, I realised that there might be memory problems, so I ran MemTest86. This turned up about 250 memory errors, so I took out the two 8 GB memory modules that came with the laptop and replaced them with one Crucial CT32G4SFD832A - 32GB - DDR4 - SODIMM3200MHz.

The freezes and crashes kept occurring. Further Googling persuaded me that there might be a problem with the power adapter, so I replaced it -- to no avail: the freezes and crashes continued.

I enabled Driver Verifier and one time I got this stop code:
DRIVER_VERIFIER-DETECTED VIOLATION (0xC4)

I've tested all my hard drives (1 internal SSD, 3 external SSD and one external HDD for backups) but there are no disk errors.
I've run SFC /scannow and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth multiple times, but no errors showed up.

I thought there might be a problem with the graphics drivers, so I used DDU to cleanly uninstall the drivers for the onboard AMD Radeon Graphics and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. I then installed the latest versions of those drivers. This did not solve the problems.

I've disabled all non-Microsoft services except Macrovision InstallDriver Table Manager and Realtek Bluetooth Device Manager Service, the latter of which I need to use my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Windows 11 is only stable (no freezes or crashes) in Safe Mode with Networking.

I've just run V2 Log Collector and attached the zip file.

For some reason that I don't understand, Windows 11 has not created any minidumps on crashing, even though virtual memory on my C drive was correctly set to Small Memory Dump (256 KB) and is now set to Kernel Memory Dump, and virtual memory is set to System Managed Size.

The weird thing is that when I set Kernel Memory Dump, I get this message:

"Windows might not be able to record details that could help identify system errors because your current paging file is disabled or less than 800 megabytes. Click OK to return to the Virtual Memory settings window, enable the paging file and set the size to a value over 800 megabytes, or click Cancel to change your memory dump selection."

Virtual memory is enabled and 2048 MB is currently allocated, so this message makes no sense to me.

Maybe some Windows 11 guru can help me to overcome these problems. I would be hugely grateful.
I'm on the point of giving up and buying a new PC or laptop. I guess that 5 years is the average lifespan for laptops.

Thanks for that suggestion.
What I see in the Windows failures row is many Critical events with Summary: 'Windows was not properly shut down' and Action: 'The previous system shutdown at HH:MM:SS on DD/MM/YYYY was unexpected.'
Less frequently, I see 'explorer.exe' with Summary: 'Stopped responding' and Action: 'The program explorer.exe version 10.0.26100.5074 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.'
I also see quite a few 'Failed Windows Update' warnings.

1) Turn off Windows Driver Verifier (WDV):

2) Run these scripts > post share links using Dropbox or Google drive

a) tuneup_plus

b) diskparinfo

3) Open Event viewer

a) system > post share links

b) application > post share links

4) Post a new V2 share link using Dropbox or Google drive after completing steps 1 - 3

5) Run Sea Tools Long generic test (all drives) > post images or share links

6) Run HD Tune (all drives) (old version) > post images or share links

a) Health

b) Full error scan

7) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

chkdsk /b /v

Run these chkdsk switches on all drives using the syntax: chkdsk /b /v C: or chkdsk /b /v D: or chkdsk /b /v E: etc.

Make sure that the windows drive runs overnight while sleeping.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /b /v
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type: Y

Reboot as needed.

8) After completing all chkdsk /b /v run:

https://www.tenforums.com/attachmen...-files-use-bsod-debugging-chkdskfromevent.bat

Batch files for use in BSOD debugging - Windows 10 Help Forums

Batch files for use in BSOD debugging - Windows 10 Help Forums

Make sure that this runs only after the prior three steps for each drive.

9) Run HD Sentinel (all drives) > post images or share links (do not run until posting results for each steps 5, 6, 7 and 8)

Hard Disk Sentinel - HDD health and temperature monitoring
a) Overview
b) Temperature
c) SMART

10) Please make sure that all of the above steps are performed in sequence

These steps / tests can be performed overnight while sleeping:

a) Sea Tools Long generic test
b) HD Tune Full error scan
c) Chkdsk /b /v

11) Indicate the method(s) used to connect non-Windows drives to the Asus laptop

NB: I started running Sea Tools Long Generic Test on all my drives. During the test of Disk 0, which has two partitions: C (OS & progs) and D (data), Windows crashed yet again, for the first time giving this stop code: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (0x7A). According to LearnMicrosoft.com, this means that "the requested page of kernel data from the paging file couldn't be read into memory."
This is the first time I've had a crash in Safe Mode with Networking, which is the only way I can use this laptop without it frequently crashing.
In total, in the past few weeks, I've had hundreds of crashes. They're becoming increasingly frequent. It seems that DEATH IS NIGH, and that this ASUS pile of crap is soon to fly out of a window at high velocity and join the big shitheap in hell (or am I being unnecessarily morbid?).
I give up for today.
I just ordered a new mini-PC: the Beelink SER9 Pro with Ryzen 9 HX370, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD
It'll take me several weeks of hard slog to install all the music and audio software I have on this PoC.

I see. I've never used Google Drive to publicly share files.

After completing post #6 steps #5 - #11:

Please run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

Memtest86+ | The Open-Source Memory Testing Tool

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20's to detect malfunctioning RAM.

The RAM can be tested all at one time or one at a time in the same DIMM.
