Windows 11 start menu crash after KB5021255

Immediately after installing KB5021255 and restarting, pressing windows key or clicking on the windows taskbar icon

the cursor changes to the loading cursor for about 0.5 sec and then nothing shows.

Anyone else with windows 11 have this problem after installing KB5021255?

Windows 11 Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.963)

Nevermind, it's not a windows problem. The update creates an incompatibility with Explorer Patcher: GitHub - valinet/ExplorerPatcher: This project aims to enhance the working environment on Windows

Just need to uninstall this software until the author fixes this problem.

Not familiar with that stuff.

Yeah thanks that helps. It's unfortunate that their github page is closed to the public so nobody can report this issue.

It's the only software I could find to restore taskbar items to be ungrouped and with text in windows 11.

Welcome. Third party software and Microsoft sometimes don't mix. Look into some Stardock software they have a lot to offer also, but for a price.

Have you tried to uninstall / reinstall ExplorerPatcher after the update install?

Not sure what version you are running but seems there is a new one.
