Windows 11 update unable install

It shows to be a download problem but I would run some basic windows update troubleshooting anyway since 24h2 is causing problems for so many people. With this disastorous upgrade, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I also strongly suggest you make a system image before upgrading to 24h2.

1. disable any third party AV

2. Run troubleshooter-settings-system-troubleshoot-other troubleshooters-windows update-RUN.

3. Reset Windows update using Brink's tutorial Reset Windows Update in Windows 11 Tutorial

4. Run sfc after resetting update components to make sure your system is clean before going into the upgrade. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair. If it found corruption it could not fix followup with this command (note the spaces)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Restart computer

5. CLEAN UP COMPONENT STORE - from command promt as administrator dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

Restart

Check for updates again.

If it still fails download the iso and manually upgrade using this tutorial.. Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade Tutorial

Solved, MS's fault, new patch installed sucessfully!
