Solved Windows 13???

Yesterday, we were just starting our Windows 11 class when this person kinda crashed the party. She wanted to know what we were doing, etc. Dean, who has taken over the class temporarily until I can get back up to speed, was flabbergasted. Me too!

She quickly launched into the fact that she's beta testing Windows 13 . . . Do What!?!?

I told her that as far as I know there isn't a Windows 13 . . . Would Microsoft actually create Windows with the unlucky number 13? (I didn't say that to her, but I was thinking it.)

Well, she knew because she's a beta tester . . . that's when I told her I have been testing Microsoft products since 1985 and have never heard of it.

That's when she didn't let her shirt tail hit her in the A$$ on her way to report us to the Director. She told the Director that we were teaching everything all wrong and didn't know what we were doing. The Director told her the students are beginners and we were teaching them what they need . . . but I digress

I realize Microsoft could be working on Windows 13 in secret, but all I could find in my search was that there were rumors of a Windows 13 in 2019.

So, the burning question is: Do any of you know if Microsoft is working on Windows 13????

MS have only just assembled their Windows 12 development team so I agree with you that she's talking rubbish.

- Do note that "know" is not used in any sense that would be confirmed by a dictionary.

I know that you have taken part in TwelveForums but for the benefit of others who might read this post:
TwelveForums has been set up early so it can be fully tested by the time Windows 12 information starts to become available.
It is not yet an active forum and you'll see lost of jokey threads about us having installation errors if our computers are not connected to their own nuclear power stations.

I agree with Denis. Even if they were working on it internally, I would highly doubt that they are far enough along with it that they would have external Beta testers on it. I'm not even aware of external testing being done on 12 yet, although that may just be lack of knowledge on my part.

Thanks, @Try3. I've registered there, but haven't been a frequent flyer . . . errrr, ummm, visitor, since not much has been happening. Guess I should be more active if I want MS to take me seriously for Previewing Windows 12.

I have no doubt that Microsoft looks to serious forums like these for special testing.

Being on these forums has 0 effect on that.
Insider developer builds would be the earliest and well they aint even here for 12 yet, I started on win 11 around june 2021? I believe that was the earliest it was possible. Externally anyway.

Microsoft has not even released Windows 12 for Insiders yet and there's already a Windows 13. That's a huge leap in logic.

By coincidence I was idly wondering a couple of days ago, just what MS was going to call Windows 13. Personally I would prefer it if they just called Windows, you know, Windows and left the rest to the build number, because actually nobody needs to know that except when ensuring that the latest updates are installed, or when troubleshooting. However, clearly there is a marketing aspect to this, and MS would like people to have to occasionally (or even frequently) buy a shiny new version, and maybe to warn people that this new build might not work on their rather ancient hardware; so we are stuck with some marketing speak stuck on the end of "Windows".

With regard to @Wynona's intruder, I can only say that this is just one of the many slings and arrows which we teachers had to put up with - simply because everyone has been to school, clearly everyone knows how to teach much better than the poor guy who has been doing it as a career for 20 or 30 years.
