Solved Windows does not even have a wireless wifi option anywhere on my pc

So I've used my pc with wireless internet for as long as I've owned it. One day, I booted it up, and the wifi was not working. In fact, the option to set up the internet is gone all together it seems. I've restarted it and put things in command prompt, but nothing is fixing it. Any ideas?

So any markers (eg. yellow triangle, etc) indicating faults?

So Settings > Network and internet > What's turned on? What's turned off?

So what's listed under Network adapters?

So not uncommon for built-in wifi chip to fail. Need to resort to USB wifi adapter (pretty cheap to buy) but a nuisance on laptops when number of USB ports are limited

You've probably done this already, have you checked to see if any network cables are properly connected? I had this happen to me with my laptop the other day.

When I use the tutorial, only regular old ethernet shows up in settings. No wifi or even the other types of ethernet.

So far from your above responses I'm suspecting the failed wifi chip option ....

I rearranged my setup to be hooked into the wired connection. Now it seems to work fine. It also recognizes the router.

In over 30 years of using Windows from Windows 3.11 for workgroups to the latest W11 Pro canary build - Windows Networking of any type has always for me been hit and miss -- but I'll have to say that I've never had a problem with any Hardware issues with Wifi cards being the cause of failure -- even if they were old PCMIA types or the old Token Ring system.

An easy way to test is just try connecting a USB->wifi connector -- costs around €4.00 for a cheap one -- don't worry about speed or quality -- all you want is to test whether Wifi working is still OK and see if that works. Chances are it's Windows / software / drivers rather than a hardware problem.

Check also that Wifi IS enabled and you aren't in some stupid "Airplane Mode" setting which disables wifi.
