Problem started back May 21st when that Heavy Duty Storm passed through Eastern Ontario, 5 days without Power , then Power Surges that did me me in on my Laptop..

My Windows Email App Blitzed, I lost a couple email accounts , wasn't able to get them back through the App.. Only email addresses that stayed were the Administrative Email and the Email related to the ISP....

I found out through a local Tech Repair Shop that there is problems with the Windows Email App and that Microsoft is working on it and when they will have an Update to fix the problem is the question ?? Yes I can access the lost email accounts through my Browser but it was so convenient through the App and get Notified of an incoming email in the box..

Last time I attempted an Update I got an Error Code (0x80073712) it was an Cumulative Update for Windows.. Explanation was , Some Update Files are Missing or Have Problems.. Have thought of Removing the Windows Email App and Re Downloading it from the MS Store but if there is a problem with the App that may not be a good idea ??

Thoughts & Opinions Appreciated, Cheers Thanks

First thing I would try is to make sure Windows is fully up to date, then go to settings, apps, apps & features, scroll down to Mail and Calendar click the three little dots and look at the options there, one will be reset.
If that does not help try running the MS Store app and try check for updates there.
Restart the computer after any updates have been installed to make sure any 'in use' files can be updated.
I have not noticed any issues with the mail app and updates for it and Calendar seem to come through on occasion without problems.

That's the thing I've tried a few times Updating to No Avail.. I keep getting Error Code (0x80073712)... Apparently Microsoft knows there is a Problem with the Windows Mail App, Just when they will put out an Update correcting the problem is anybody's guess ??

That error code means a file needed by Windows update is missing or corrupt, have you tried SFC /scannow to fix or identify any issues, what was the outcome?
Are you using any Windows customisation software, specifically any that interfere with Windows update components?
Have you tried a repair install?
Can you provide more detail and/ or a link to the issue the tech repair shop claims Microsoft are aware of with the mail app.

Have you tried a repair install?

It really does work. Did one recently to fix a issue I was having.
