Windows update error 0x80070103

Hello.
This morning I noticed that windows update had some driver extensions to install but with error 0x80070103.
I tried windows troubleshooter and reset windows update.
Nothing helped.
Some ideas?

Hello again.
I run the batch file to disable drivers updates in windows update but they still apears with the same error.

This has been occurring with many people. There's another, similar thread out there. After hitting retry several times, the update went away for me. Not sure where it went - update heaven, maybe?

I solved the issue with these comands:

1-Right-Click on Start then click on Windows Terminal(admin)
2-Type these commands:
net stop wuauserv and press [Enter]
net stop cryptSvc and press [Enter]
net stop bits and press [Enter]
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old and press [Enter]
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old and press [Enter]
net start wuauserv and press [Enter]
net start cryptSvc and press [Enter]
net start bits and press [Enter]
netsh winsock reset
3-Reboot your PC

The issue goes away.

Seems some old drivers have been sent out? One of mine that fails today is Intel 30.0.101.1218, which is a Graphics Control Panel update first issued on 23rd December 2021.

Also, wushowhide doesn't find them to hide.

Thanks cool59 - that worked for me.
(after the restart the list of bad updates was still there but I hit "pause for 1 week" and then "check for updates" and they all disappeared)

Interesting, haven't had any trouble with updates until now, have 6 awaiting install but they have been installed, listed 4 times as successful.

Nope, the one time my wushowhide did find and list them it failed when trying to hide them. Couldn't get it to list them again after that.

That worked briefly for some of us but they eventually reappeared.

As posted on another thread, try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter - settings/system/troubleshoot/other trouble shooters.

Then go into Windows Update, select pause for one week just for a few seconds. Checking for updates should then run again and remove them. It did for me.

Hello again!

I noticed that apparently windows defender updates are suspended.
The last one I received was at 6:00 am.
Normally when you check for updates windows defender updates about 5 or 6 times a day.
Today only once....at 6.00am as I said above.
It's just me?
Could it be related to the driver installation issue?

Yup, I did that yesterday and it was fixed for about ten minutes

Sign of hope here, my 1255 build machine just stopped showing the outdated drivers on Windows Update. I didn't do any other troubleshooting they just disappeared. The 1265 build still has them, but now have hope it's temporary.

I spoke too soon. It stopped all day yesterday and just started with A-Volute - Extension - 1.1.32.62690.

Windows Update Troubleshooter claimed to have made changes, but they didn't work. I reported the A-Volute - Extension - 1.1.32.62690 failed install to the Feedback Hub.

I had this problem earlier on my Dell machine, so just paused updates to hide them.

Returned after 3 hours, unpaused updates and a search showed up to date and the rogue items had disappeared.

Build 1265.

Well, still good for me (see my mail above).
Strange thing is that this morning the Reliability Monitor showed that Windows tried twice to update 7 drivers, and shows that they all failed. However, Windows Update page does not show anything, except "You're Up To Date".

I had this problem also, i tried a lot of fixes and they still came back !
How i fixed it was to delete the last MS update a few days ago & reinstalled it ! Worked perfectly now !!
