WinZip 18.5 and Explorer windows

I just received a Windows 11 machine from my employer and have installed the licensed WinZip version I had from before. It works fine, except I can't find a setting to stop it from opening a new Explorer window showing the folder that I extract files to. I tried adding a FileShow=0 reg item, it did nothing. Does anyone know how to stop this behavior? An annoyance more than anything.

Have a look through Winzips settings for something like “Show Unzipped Files” “Open Folder On Extraction” or “Show Extracted Files” or something similar and uncheck them.

I am not at my PC and regardless I no longer have Winzip installed, so I am going from memory.

You could also check in the registry for settings that may invoke one of the above mentioned in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WinZip\Extract

If you find any, set them to “0”
But it looks like you may have already possibly tried all of the above.
