I've used Clipmate for many many years, I would say I had it with Windows XP if not Win 7 for sure that is how long ago I bought it and have been using it. I've compared more recent clip managers but none seem to have the great features that Clipmate has ( had) they stopped updating it in 2015 and supporting it. So for 9+ years I have been using it on Window 10 and now 11 as well as the above version I mentioned. It works but it just needs a remake. The company who developed it decided back in 2015 not to continue it but those who bought a license could use it until it just won't work on Windows.
There are too many things about it to list that need updating and too many features that are so great. For many years almost since Clipmate stopped I have been comparing clip managers although there are many they seem so basic compared to Clipmate. A few features that clipmate has that I like and can't seem to find in others are,
Collections:
Using Collections Effectively
One of ClipMate's most powerful features is the ability to create "Collections" to organize your data by various topics, categories, or projects. By default, ClipMate builds three collections for you: InBox, Safe, and Overflow. But you can define many more to suit your needs, such as for special projects, or organizing data by type, such as Clip Art, URLs, Jokes, Frequently Asked Questions, etc
Rename Clips:
Rename Clip Dialog
Press Ctrl+R on any clip to bring up the Rename Clip dialog box.
Here you can assign a better title to the clip, and you can also change or set a "shortcut".
For more information, see ShortCuts.
The Title limit is 60 characters, and the Shortcut is 64 characters.
TIP: If you have a series of shortcuts to enter, be sure to enable the "Carry-Over Last Prefix option. This will cause each clip to remember the "prefix" (all text up to the last ".") from the previous clip.
Like I said I have been searching for years and comparing all clip managers and I may have missed the above features in newer clip managers but I can't seem to find a clip manager that is as well built as Clipmate.
By no means is this some lame ad for Clipmate it is a hope that someone has used it in the past and found one that has the same features that I am unable to find.
To safe a lot of people time, please don't Google Clipmate alternatives and post a link here. I have been doing that for years as well.
Just hoping like I said above that someone used Clipmate like I have and found another clip manager that does most of everything Clipmate did.
