Solved Word 2010 docs not searchable by File Explorer

Does anyone have a fix for when Word 2010 documents are not searchable by Windows 11 File Explorer? For example, as a test I added one word to a blank Word 2010 doc. But that doc does not appear in the File Explorer search results. I tried the troubleshooter but had no luck fixing the problem.

Check this post and make sure “docs” is listed as a searchable extension.

Search for *.docx returns nothing

Attempting a search in the Documents folder for Word documents with search term "*.docx" returns nothing. Even when searching a single folder with 8 .docx files none are returned. Signed in as administrator still does not find any Word document. How do I get a meaningful search back...

And either rebuild the index or wait for a indefinite period for Windows to update the index for you.

I got the search to work by repairing Office: Settings > Apps > Installed Apps < Microsoft Office > Modify > Repair.
