WU Win10 --> Win11

Thought I would try the update to Win11 being offered via Windows Update on one of my Win10 systems. It was running Win10 21H2 fully updated as of today so was thinking surely it would upgrade to the latest Win11 22H2 right? Wrong! It only upgraded to Win11 21H2 not 22H2. Even after the post upgrade updates it was still not even showing the 22H2 as available.
So if you've got Win10 and thinking of upgrading to Win11 via WU you might wanna wait a little longer otherwise you'll have to update it again soon after.
Yes there are other methods available.

Use the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool or ISO to upgrade to latest build.

Did you know WU means Windows Update the tool i'm talking about Windows 11 Media Creation.

Even though MS released 22H2 on Sept. 20th... they are still rolling it out in waves.
22H2 will get offered to you through WU sooner or later.

I think MS does this in waves, because they don't have to keep as many tech support drones on the payroll.
If they rolled it out to everyone on the same day, they'd need to use... "ALL" of India for tech support.

There's only TWO job skills in India. Agriculture and Microsoft tech support. <---- just kidding.

Right I understand the WU issue. I had one Win11 machine updated through the Updater but 3 more waiting. But the point is if they're going to offer an upgrade to Win11 from Win10 through WU then why not go ahead and update to the latest Win11 vs the outgoing version? That's just a double update to have to deal with.

Microsoft has it's own schedules to keep. Us peasants aren't notified of these things.

I didn't get offered 22H2, so I just did an In-Place upgrade.


22H2 is more of a Feature Update than a Windows Update.
That seems to be how MS is handling it.
